Oasis of the Seas

As of this posting date The Oasis of The Seas (and her twin sister The Allure of The Seas) are the world’s largest cruise ships both at 225,282 tons according to wikipedia.

Although my friend Tom this week just pointed me to the fact that RCL’s Harmony OTS (the third in the Oasis class) will be even larger and soon claim the title.  This post was uploaded on Feb 28, 2015 so it will be interesting to look back in a few years and see who then owns the title of world’s largest cruise ship.

I have another gallery here labeled Veracruz  which was the very first cruise I took back in 1987, and by comparison it was only around 10,000 tons compared to 225,000 tons today on the Oasis!

Here is a gallery from the Oasis from last Labor Day.  Steve and I went with our friends Ben and Tom, and this mammoth ship was a first for both of us. I’m not really a fan of mega-mega ships, but I must say we had a wonderful time on this short weekend cruise as it prepared to sail for dry-dock.
