I’ve often been asked how many cruises I’ve taken? I honestly don’t know as I haven’t actually counted them all, but as I’m trying to archive some of my old cruise photos and shipboard papers, I’ll give it my best shot. Steve DOS had only cruised once before we met in 2005, so the first few years since I started in 1987 will be Steve UNO’s cruises only. I used to cruise solo almost exclusively before DOS, with occasionally a friend on some trips. I never liked paying the single supplement, so I usually booked an inside cabin, having worked up to a balcony cabin in 2004, right before I met DOS.
I first cruised on the tiny 10,000 ton ship the Veracruz in 1987. 
I went by myself on this 5 night cruise from Tampa to Cozumel and Playa Del Carmen, and was hooked!
Even on this tiny ship I had the time of my life, and told myself I would do a cruise at least once a year the rest of my life. As it turns out, I went three times that first year, and have been multiple times in some years.
Simply put, I love cruising – the convenience of only packing once, the ease of travel, the service, the food and drink, the passengers (well most of them), the ports, the sea days, the sunsets, the shared experience with others etc. etc. etc. Yes, cruising has changed lots over the years, especially with the new mega-liners, and different food venues (vs the traditional main dining room), but it still has the similar aspects that hooked me on cruising on the tiny ship Veracruz back in 1987.
