Steve (DOS) and I are back home in Orlando from the Sky Princess cruise, and enjoying the next couple weeks at home before we cruise again. Yesterday we went our monthly church group “Young at Heart” (YAH) ❤️ luncheon, which featured a St. Patrick’s Day theme at a local restaurant.
We enjoyed enjoyed the nice 3 course lunch, the Irish trivia questions, and chatting with our fellow diners. Each month at YAH, there is a different theme, and either entertainment (one recent entertainer right before Christmas was an amazing Harpist), or guest speaker.
It’s an informal and fun event no matter the occasion, although we are frequently out of town and don’t get to attend as much as we would like. There’s always a little take-away item depending on the theme, and this month everyone got a bar of Irish Soap and a Irish prayer card, along with the St. Patrick’s trivia sheet. Hmm, soap, what are they trying to tell us! LOL!🤣
I also won one of the three door prizes, which was a St. Patrick’s Day planter with beads and funny headband. DOS wouldn’t wear those “silly” headband St. Patrick’s, (and probably wouldn’t want to associate me if I did 🤣), so we gave them to a lady friend of ours who loved them!
After we had finished eating lunch, we were entertained by lunch by Kevin and Craig, who played some wonderful St. Patrick’s Day music for the crowd of 50 YAH diners. Kevin and Craig are friends of ours and they perform throughout the years at other venues as well with a variety of music; especially the oldies from the 70s/80s which we like. Today, however, it was all St. Patrick’s Day music. Here is a mini-video of a few of the short clips I took from the Young at Heart Meeting today.
