While the original Queen Mary is now no longer sailing, and is permanently docked in Long Beach, California, and I never sailed her, I’m still including a photo gallery under the cruises tab. The Queen Mary was not a cruise ship, however, but a magnificent TransAtlantic ship built for the 1,001 crossings (not cruises) she took over her lengthy career. I wrote several posts about this previously, detailing our stay aboard the now shipboard hotel, and am including additional photos here in this gallery combined from a couple of our stays aboard the Queen Mary.
WHAT A GREAT OLD SHIP. SHE WAS SO FAST THAT THE GERMANS DID NOT SINK HER WHILE SHE WAS TAKING TROOPS FROM US TO UK DURING WW2.
I AM SO GLAD THAT LONG BEACH HAS TAKEN GOOD CARE OF THIS GREAT OLD SHIP.
THANKS FOR SHARING.
