It’s Saturday, and I’m catching up around home from the work week in New Jersey. I was in Morristown, New Jersey this week for work. My typical Monday thru Friday work week started with a flight to Newark on Monday morning; American Airlines A321 flight to Charlotte, and B737 flight to Newark. Once there I took the tram at Newark to the National Car Rental facility,
where I rented a Nissan SUV from the Executive section.
I was busy during the week, so really didn’t do anything special. I did stay at a very nice Hyatt House Hotel in Parsippany/Whittany, NJ. Hyatt House is Hyatt Hotel’s version of a Hilton Homewood Suites, or Marriott’s Residence Inn, but I more prefer the Hyatt House, although unfortunately there are not nearly as many locations as Homewood’s or Residence Inn’s. The one bedroom suite is large, functional for the business traveler, and best of all has a full size fridge, oven, and microwave for in-room meals, although they do offer a complimentary breakfast, and have a bar menu as well. This was also one of the quietest hotels I remember staying at in ages; no sounds in the hallways or TVs/conversations from other rooms, and really good two-layers of shades on the windows blocking out any light for a good night’s sleep.
I do go to a nice Italian restaurant (Rosie’s Trattoria Italian Cuisine) one day for lunch with a co-worker.
It was in a large old house, and the food and service were both classy and outstanding.
I’m still doing my low-carb diet, I passed on the pasta, but had an Italian Burger (larger burger with prosciutto, cheese, arugula and pesto.) I didn’t eat the bun though and skipped the fries, though. Delicious!
I flew home on Friday, (again thru Charlotte) and Steve (DOS) picked me up at the airport as usual. Dos had bought a new Sony camera, and was eager to start taking photos for the weekend. While we usually use our iPhones, he bought this nice camera in anticipation of our May 2017 Safari trip to Africa. He wanted a camera that was weatherproof and could stand the dusty conditions there, and this camera got outstanding reviews for safaris. We are also going to Kaui in October, so wanted to get used to the camera prior to that trip as well.
After settling in and changing clothes, we were welcomed back with a beautiful evening sky.
As it quickly got dark, we grilled out by the pool, having a nice dinner at home after a busy week. These are a couple of DOS’s photos using his new camera. More to come as we figure out how to use this new ‘toy’.
WHAT GREAT PICS-EVEN EWR LOOKS GOOD.
