This gallery shows some of our cruise photos taken upon embarkation by the ship’s photographers. I started cruising in 1987 and in my early years often sailed alone or with friends, until meeting Dos in 2005. Even though I’ve always had a camera, I loved (and still do) like getting the embarkation day photograph, somewhat of a tradition. I especially liked the ship photos that list the itinerary, or at least the sailing date on them, as it’s easy to forget when you sailed when! Enjoy!

My third cruise, and sailing solo, although my co-worker friend from Tampa came aboard with me until sailing. Can't do that anymore!

The ship that started it all for Carnival. Former ocean liner with lots of beautiful woods. Here I'm sailing with a friend from college.

The tiny Sunward from Norweigen Cruise Line, around 16,000 tons. Here I'm sailing with my sis Jenni.

Former ocean liner no longer sailing. Princess Grace took it on her honeymoon, and was featured on I Love Lucy and several films.

8 Day repositiong cruise from San Juan to New York. Boarding with Sheila, a cruise planner I had previously met and booked thru, and who was sailing as well.
Hi Steve. I enjoyed reading about your trips. I was having nostalgic thoughts about cruises I’ve taken in the past. ‘I wonder where the Veracruz is now’ came to mind. My mom and I took a 2 week Caribbean cruise on the Veracruz in 1980. What an experience I’ll never forget! My daughter and I went on a cruise in 2018 on a huge ship. I was hoping to experience the same magic but it wasn’t the same, I think because it was too big for one thing.
Anyway, Veracruz was one of the best times of my life!!
